This line chart report enables vehicle usage to be grouped by hour, day of the week, date, or month. Each of these groupings can be viewed by either the total vehicle usage, vehicle location, or by vehicle product family. When you select to view the usage by location or vehicle, then you can also select whether to calculate the usage by the average, maximum, minimum, or total vehicle use.
The target usage line defaults to 80% of the total trucks in the fleet. The percentage can be changed in the User Preferences.
To access this report, click [Metrics] Metrics > [Vehicle] Vehicle > [Survey] Survey > [Summary Utilization] Summary Utilization. Make your filter selections, then click [Update Report] Update Report to display the new data.
Suggested Uses
•If the number of trucks being used is far below the target line, then possibly not as many trucks are needed to run day-to-day operations.
•If the number of trucks being used is consistently above the target line, then possibly trucks are being over used and more trucks should be acquired to help with operations. It could also signal that, while the trucks are constantly being used, some operators are waiting for trucks which could decrease performance.
•If certain times of the day are less busy (typically before 8 am and after 5 pm), this report could help determine when to schedule things such as truck maintenance, or offsetting certain operations for different times of day.
