This report compares the prior and current costs of the selected assets for the facilities and date ranges that are selected from the Filter pane. Use the Date Grouping drop-down list to indicate which time frames you want to compare.

The Partial time segment projects the Current incomplete time segment against the Prior time segment. For example, if Current Calendar Year vs. Prior Calendar Year is selected, but the current calendar year is not over yet. The incomplete months in the current year would be designated as Partial on the chart.

The exact date groupings appear below the chart by date and color. Hover your mouse over each grouping to show the exact dates being reported.

To compare the cost of assets in the current quarter to the cost of assets in the same quarter of the previous year, click [Current Quarter vs Prior Quarter] Current Quarter vs Prior Year Quarter from the Date Grouping drop-down list. Enter the last day on which you want data for the End Date filter. Click [Update Report] Update Report. If you entered an end date of 3/31/2015 and a Date Grouping of Current Quarter vs Prior Year Quarter then the report would show data from 1/01/2015– 3/31/2015, and 1/01/2014 – 3/31/2014.

To compare the current 12 month period (the 12 month period would end on the date entered in the End Date filter), to the same 12 month period prior to that end date, click [Current 12 Months vs Prior 12 Months] Current 12 Months vs Prior 12 Months. If you entered an end date of 3/01/2015 and a Date Grouping of Current 12 Months vs Prior 12 Months then the report would show data from 3/01/2013 – 2/28/2014, and 3/01/2014 – 3/01/2015.

To access this report, click [Maintenance] Maintenance > [Cost] Cost > [Reports] Reports > [Cost Comparison] Cost Comparison. Make your filter selections, then click [Update Report] Update Report to display the new data.

•Look for instances where the current (green) column is greater than the prior (blue) column. These indicate an increase in the current time period vs the prior time period.

•Keep in mind, many factors contribute to the maintenance costs from a prior time period to a current time period. If the size of your fleet has significantly increased or decreased, then comparisons between a prior and current time segment may not be as useful.
